Fellowship Model Building Challange!!!!!

Hello kiddies! In just a few short weeks it’ll be……HALLOWEEN!!!!!!
So in order to get everyone into the “spirit” I’ve decided to issue a model building challenge to the members of The Fellowship.

The theme and challenge for this year is:

Build A Monster Model Challenge & Contest

Challenge Start Date: August 26, 2010
Challenge End Date: November 12, 2010

The Rules:

1. Model must be a styrene plastic monster model. No resin or vinyl kits please!
2. Bring your finished kit to the November 12, 2010 Fellowship meeting. The kits will then be judged and a winner selected.
3. While the kit itself must meet the "styrene" challange, feel free to think outside the box by adding a customized base, a devious diorama, etc. These as well as aftermaker accessories may be resin, vinyl, white metal, etc.
4. Have FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Participants are being encouraged to go “outside” of their respective “normal” modeling zone(s) and build something “abnormal” for a change. There are some fantastic plastic kits available from Moebuis, Monarch, Round2, and recently Revell reissued several of the old Aurora monsters.

So lock the dungeon laboratory doors and unleash your inner mad scientist! Join me in a journey into the macabre to see what kind of devious creations lurk in the shadows………..

August 20th Meeting

The Fellowship had their first meeting at GAME ZONE ALPHA this past week. Game Zone Alpha is a local shop in Jacksonville, AR that specializes in WarGamer equipment and miniatures.

The place was packed Friday, August 20th. Game Zone Alpha was holding a card tournament.

The Fellowship awarded their first offical Rusty Nail Award.

The Rusty Nail Award goes to the member who they feel has done the most for the Fellowship. This time, the award went to Brianna Martin for her contribution in building the Fellowship's website. The award will pass down to the next member who does something great for the group.

Be sure to check us out at the next meeting on September 3 at 6:00pm at Hobby Town, USA. There is a map at the bottom of the Fellowship website. For more information, go to the Contact Us page to send us a message or check out the Forum.

Welcome to the Fellowship!

The Fellowship is a gathering of Science Fiction and Figure Modelers who meet twice monthly in Little Rock, AR for the purpose of fellowship; sharing of methods; laughter; and good food. Discussions and demonstrations about topics such as creativity in modeling, the application of color theory, scratch building methods, thinning and applying differing hues of paint, new models on the market, and our favorite science fiction characters are but a few examples of the more formal, which are informal, aspects of our meetings. We are not a club, have no formal organization, no agenda, and no long term goals. We are just friends who enjoy sharing, critiquing, improving as modelers, and the friendship of sharing our interests with one another. This website is an extension of The Fellowship; where modelers, with like minds, can share and be a part of our group when they otherwise are unable to attend in person our meetings. We welcome all who desire to participate, contribute, and join our friendship.

Contact us at thefellowship.sig@gmail.com. In the mean time, be sure to join and enjoy!

Thanks!
